Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, said that the ministry possesses distinguished training capabilities represented in the regional training center affiliated with the ministry in 6th of October City, the Drainage Authority Training Center, the Survey Authority Training Center, and the training center affiliated with the Hydraulics Research Institute at the National Water Research Center.
The minister pointed out, in a statement today, Monday, that many various training courses are being offered through these centers for the ministry’s employees and Arab and African trainees.
Dr. Swailem pointed out the importance of supporting training programs provided to technical cadres for young engineers and researchers in the ministry in all areas related to the optimal management of water resources, especially in light of the increasing challenges facing the water sector such as population increase, limited water resources and the negative effects of climate change, and providing training topics that qualify engineers. Modern management of water resources and adaptation to climate changes.
He pointed to Egypt’s readiness to be a regional center for the African continent in the field of capacity-building in issues related to water and climate change under the umbrella of the initiative to adapt to climate change in the water sector, which Egypt launched during the COP 27 climate conference, especially in light of the ministry’s possession of the necessary logistical capabilities in this regard.
Swailem pointed out that the regional training center possesses distinguished training capabilities, whether at the center’s headquarters in the Sixth of October City or its branches in the cities (Kafr El-Sheikh – Zagazig – Damanhour – Fayoum – Minya – Esna).
