An awareness march to protect wild cats from extinction at the Gezira Youth Center in Zamalek

This morning, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo organized an awareness march to protect endangered wild cats and support the Arabian leopard, under the title “Catwalk 2022”.

The voluntary march started at exactly ten o’clock in the morning at the Al-Jazeera Youth Center track, for a distance of 7 km, led by the Saudi Consul in Cairo, Dr. Sultan bin Faraj Al-Subaie, on behalf of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, and the Egyptian Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Jumaa, and in the presence of department heads. and embassy staff.

The initiative is one of the campaigns of the global “Catmosphere” organization, which is concerned with protecting 40 species of wild cats that are endangered, supporting and preserving the Arabian leopard and rare tigers in their natural environment, achieving the goals of rehabilitating ecosystems in the region, in addition to enhancing the physical fitness of community members.
