Headed by dr. Mohamed Lotfy, The simulation model of COP27 was held in cooperation with UNDP, which was also sponsored by dr. Ashraf Sobhy the minister of youth and sport, and dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour the minister of higher education and scientific research, dr. Mahmoud Mohy El-din the poineer of COP27.
COP27 Simulation Model Carried Out
The simulation model includes around 150 participants from all over the world to simulate the real conference of parties COP27. The British University in Egypt hosted the simulation from the 18th to the 20th of this October.
Participants will be providing recommendations for policy papers to be added to the recommendations for improvement presented in real COP27
The British University in Egypt and the UNDP
The first phase of the simulation introduced an intensive capacity-building program for both Egyptian and international participants. This phase was conducted by experts and high-level figures and international organizations’ representatives and experienced academic staff from the university itself or other well-known universities.
In this framework, the British University in Egypt and UNDP supported COP27 and empowered youth to have a real role towards climate actions; as well as the national exerted efforts by the government for COP27.
