Dr. Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Center of the Meteorological Authority, announced that the first day of the winter season has begun, stressing that this year it will last for about 3 months to end on March 20, 2023, pointing out that it coincides with the start of the winter season and there is a noticeable drop in temperatures, especially During the night periods, it reaches extreme cold, which sometimes reaches the point of frost, especially in the new cities and desert places, especially northern Upper Egypt and central Sinai, in which temperatures often reach below zero.
And she said, during a television interview, that climate changes will not change the beginning of the seasons, but only contribute to the sensation of highs or lows in temperatures in different seasons, in addition to exposure to violent weather phenomena, stressing that the official start is linked to the sun’s perpendicularity to each of the Tropic of Capricorn, the Tropic of Cancer, or the equator. .
She pointed out that the winter season is associated with low temperatures and wind activity, which increases our feeling of low temperatures, explaining that in the case of a moderate climate in winter, it is associated with us with the state of warmth that we can feel, as well as water mist and fog, which in turn affects horizontal vision.
