The Minister of Environment participates in the opening of the Cairo Book Fair.. and inspects the Ministry’s pavilion

Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, participated in the opening of the Cairo International Book Fair 2023 in its 54th session, which was inaugurated by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister. The period will be from January 25 to February 6, at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan will be the guest of honor at the exhibition.

Dr. Yasmine Fouad inspected the special pavilion of the Ministry of Environment participating in the exhibition, stressing that the ministry aims through participation to raise environmental awareness for all segments of society through direct contact, and to highlight the role and tasks of the Ministry of Environment and its various sectors, adding that the Cairo International Book Fair is one of the largest exhibitions that take place It is implemented in Egypt and enjoys a huge public turnout, which provides the opportunity for direct contact with a large number of interactive audiences from all over the Republic.

The Minister of Environment added that the events and activities of the special pavilion of the Ministry of Environment will witness the presentation of the ministry’s initiatives and various projects through the display screen, including the presidential initiative “Get Green” to raise environmental awareness, the activities of the National Program for Solid Waste Management, the Eco Egypt campaign to promote ecotourism, and the integration of environmental concepts in school curricula. And the biogas project, and the soaring birds project, and natural reserves, and others.

And the Minister of Environment added that the activities of the Ministry’s pavilion at the exhibition will also witness the implementation of various environmental awareness activities through the Ministry’s awareness work team for those who frequent the pavilion, dealing with correcting some environmental misconceptions that are circulated among all groups of society, and environmental competitions will also be implemented by asking environmental questions to visitors. On the pavilion, some environmentally friendly games for children to learn about positive and negative behaviors towards the environment.

The Minister of Environment added that technical workshops will be implemented on the reuse of waste for visitors to the Ministry’s pavilion to educate them on the importance of reusing waste in creating beautiful paintings that reduce the problem of waste in the streets and thus reduce emissions, and watch some documentaries, cartoons and infographs on electronic waste and recycling and hold discussions. about it, presenting gifts and in-kind prizes, in addition to distributing awareness books and brochures on various environmental issues such as (a book about toxins in the home – smoking is a threat to our lives – family, food and pollution – practical activities to understand climate changes, etc.), provided that these activities are implemented permanently throughout the period exhibition.
